Why a Travel Advisor?
Wanderlust first captured my heart as a high school senior, when my well-travelled grandmother took my cousin Bob and I with her to Guatemala to see the Mayan ruins at Tikal.
Over the next 40-some years, I found my way to some pretty amazing experiences: swimming with dolphins near Hōnaunau-Nāpōʻopoʻo, on the Kona side of Hawaii's big island; watching the sun's first rays peek out from Huayna Picchu on the summer solstice in Peru's Sacred Valley; toning with a private group in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid on the Giza Plateau; walking in the footsteps of our Celtic ancestors with local writer Lar Dooley, on a sunset spiritual tour of the Loughcrew Cairns in the Boyne Valley, Ireland; touring the hillsides of Tuscany (between Panzano and Greve in Chianti) on e-bikes with my best friend.
For me, one of the most fulfilling parts of traveling is the planning process. Crazy but true: I love exploring and researching destinations and experiences, reading reviews, finding the hidden gems and of course, getting a good deal. More than a few time, I've shared my plans and itineraries with friends or family, and they were so inspired and excited, they arranged to come along with me.
